Day-1 Arrival Yangon by MAI flight – Yangon sightseeing (L,D)

 

Welcome to the Garden City Yangon.  Arrive by Myanmar Airway International (MAI) 8M 336 - 11:25 AM flight to Yangon International Airport.

Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes it one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast Asia. 

 

We will start visit downtown area to see Sule pagoda located on a roundabout in downtown Yangon, Yangon City Hall of Myanmar architectural design, High Court noted for its British colonial architecture including its red-bricked exterior and Mahabandoola Park a public botanical area downtown Yangon.

 

We will continue to visit Bogyoke Market, known for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets, the market is a major tourist destination, dominated by antique, Burmese handicraft and jewellery shops, art galleries, and clothing stores.

 

In the evening, we will visit to the enjoyable experience of the sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda. Its world-renowned golden stupa is the ‘heart’ of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated structures and statues.

Day-2 Yangon – Bagan by AM flight – Bagan sightseeing (B,L,D)

 

Morning breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Bagan. 

Bagan, located on the banks of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River, is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas and ruins in the world with many dating from the 11th and 12th centuries.

On arrival, our sightseeing is starting the one of Asia’s most popular archaeological destination would include highlights such as busy Bagan’s distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas. Next stop is Htilominlo, the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes, Ananda Pagoda, one of the finest, largest and best preserved in Old Bagan, Thatbyinnyu, the tallest temple in Bagan. Afterwards, visit a lacquerware craft shop to see the process of hand-making beautiful artefacts.

In the afternoon, drive to Taung Bi Village and see suitable monastery for alms food offering to monks since many Buddhist monasteries are located in this village. Later we will drive to the most famous old wooden monastery, Nat Htauk Kyaung, Gawdawpalin, the most massive and imposing monument in Bagan and Bupaya or Bu Pagoda, situated right on the river bank of the Ayeyarwaddy was a favorite place to watch the sunset.

Day-3 Bagan – Heho by AM flight – Pindaya – Inle Lake (B,L,D) 

After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Heho. On arrival drive to Pindaya (appx driving 1.5 hour), enjoy the scenic beauty of the countryside along the way to town. Visit Pindaya Lake and Pindaya Shwe U Min Cave filled with caverns and tunnels. Pindaya Cave is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. The cave is cramped with thousands of Buddha images in various styles and sizes. Then visit bamboo- umbrella domestic workshop as well.

In the afternoon, we will drive to Nyaung Shwe (driving hour – 2 hours), the gateway village to Inle Lake. Along the way, stop at the wooden Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery which is an elegant ancient monastery with its oval-shaped windows. Check in at hotel and stay leisure.

Day-4 Inle Lake sightseeing – Nyaung Shwe – Heho – Yangon by PM flight (B,L,D) 

Breakfast at hotel, and take a boat to contemplate the rich beauty of floating gardens full of various plants and vegetables as well as explore the daily life of locals. Surely, you will be attracted by the unique image of boatmen. They row by one leg while the other stands on the boat to fix and catch fish by hands with their traditional tools. That is the particular trait of the Intha people.

Continue the trip to visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. There are many pagodas around the lake; however, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda is the most grandiose and monumental one. It is known as the symbol of five small golden Buddha images. Then we will pay a visit to Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, made by wood and floating on the lake.

You will feel interesting with the cats were trained to jump through hoops as well as the impressive golden Buddha images. Finally we will transfer to Nam Pan Village to explore the local life at the cotton and lotus weaving factories and cigar making houses.

In the afternoon, we will back to Nyaung Shwe Jetty and take the car to Heho airport for the flight back to Yangon. Arrived Yangon and transfer to hotel for check in.

Day-5   Yangon – Departure (B,L,-)

Breakfast at hotel, visit to Botataung Pagoda & Jetty can be viewed after talking a short walk towards the Yangon River. Then proceed to Chautatkhgyi pagoda, famed for the biggest reclining Buddha statue in Myanmar.

After lunch, we will transfer to the international airport for your return flight by Myanmar Airway International (MAI) 8M 331 - 16:30 flight.
